Following Slovenia's incredible qualification for the European Championship in Germany, an important business-investment congress took place in Munich on June 19, 2024, ahead of the match against Serbia.
The business conference, which brought together more than 100 Slovenian and German companies as well as prominent business leaders, was attended by Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology Matjaž Han, and Bavaria’s Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger. The speakers emphasized the significance of the long-standing economic cooperation between Slovenia and Bavaria, which remains a key economic partner for Slovenia. They also highlighted opportunities for further development, particularly in high technology, space technologies, and the automotive industry.

After the conference, a Statehood Day reception was held, where attendees, alongside distinguished guests - including President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar - celebrated this important national holiday. The Bayerisch-Slowenische Gesellschaft e.V. was represented by Dominik Smajgl, Ana Tori, and Miha Pavlovič. The event also underscored the importance of preserving Slovenian cultural heritage beyond the country’s borders.

We took the opportunity to network with representatives of the Slovenian business community and to strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture and education. It was also an excellent occasion to promote our upcoming events and to attract new members.
The event provided the association with valuable contacts, increased its visibility, and further reinforced ties between Bavaria and Slovenia - both economically and culturally.
