An Unforgettable Evening of Partnership: 50 Years of Cooperation and 30 Years of Community

We are pleased to present highlights from the festive event that took place on 1 July 2025 in the magnificent ballroom of the Löwenbräukeller in Munich. 

Together we celebrated Slovenia’s National Day and marked the 50th anniversary of the Permanent Bavarian-Slovenian Commission. 

The event was organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia in Munich, under the leadership of Consul General Maša Šiftar. Among the guests of honour were: 

• Dr Rainer Hutka, Director General of the Bavarian State Ministry for Health, Care and Prevention, 

• Dr Ana Polak Petrič, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Berlin. 

This occasion held special meaning for our organisation, as we proudly celebrate 30 years of our association’s work. On this occasion, we had the honour of initiating the presentation of awards by the Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Slovenians Abroad, which were bestowed upon our honorary members in recognition of their long-standing cooperation and dedication to strengthening the ties between Bavaria and Slovenia:

• dr. Lev Vidmar 

• posthumno: prof. dr. Peter Zimmermann in dr. Anton Jurgetz 

The evening concluded in a warm and convivial atmosphere, offering numerous opportunities for socialising and networking with members of other Slovenian associations in Bavaria. The highlight of the evening was a performance by the popular ensemble Saša Avsenik, whose music created an unforgettable ambiance – cherished by both our Slovenian guests and our Bavarian friends.
